Ware, Spencer Face Another Fill-In

The Texans will have a new left tackle Sunday: Rashad Butler is replacing Duane Brown, who has been suspended four games for violating the NFL’s policy on performance enhancing drugs.

Butler has never started a game in his five-year career. It’s a pretty safe bet that they’ll give him blocking help against DeMarcus Ware and Anthony Spencer.

“He’s played for us in some tough situations last year when we lost Duane to some injuries, so he’s been on the field in big games and played against some good players,” Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said. “I think the whole football team replaces the loss. We’ve got a big loss with Duane and everybody’s going to have to step up their play and we’re all going to have to play better around him.”

Last Sunday, the Bears were able to protect Jay Cutler pretty consistently despite losing starting left tackle Chris Williams to a hamstring injury in the first half. It’s up to the defense to make the Texans feel depleted.
